The majority of our Robin-Wood herd is made up of LaManchas. We focus on breeding an all-around goat that performs well in big and small herds, whether their purpose is for dairy production, exhibition, or just the typical family goat.

All of our animals are handled daily and are naturally friendly. Because of our focus on our growing family, we dam-raise all of our kids. The does are fed a 16% texturized dairy ration and are given alfalfa hay in the summer and grass-mix hay in the winter.

We attend at least three open shows every year and are excited that we pick up a grand or two at almost every show we attend. We try to post all the goats' show records on our site, not just their firsts or seconds.

We do not believe a goat should peak at two years old; our best does look their best at five, six, or older.

If you have any questions about our herd, feel free to ask!

We invite you to "take a gander" at our herd and to enjoy it as we do!

History of Robin-Wood

Robin-Wood started in 1985 by my parents, Bruce & Laura Foster of Terre Haute, Indiana. In 1986, 2*M GCH Long-Acres Shannon's Mimi (bred & owned by Laura Foster), won the title of ADGA National Champion LaMancha. She repeated her performance in 1988. Her daughter, 3*M GCH Robin-Wood Genuine Quality GS, claimed Reserve ADGA National Champion in 1989. Since then, Robin-Wood has produced many permanent champions up to this day.

In 2002, I took over the reins of the Robin-Wood herd from my parents. I kept all of the does in the herd that went back to Mimi and her daughter, "Genny." Though the herd was thinned out due to a major herd reduction in the mid-1990's, the animals that were left were still quite competitive in the show ring. At the 2003 Indiana State Fair, the Robin-Wood herd claimed Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor, with a Junior Champion to boot. Robin-Wood does claimed first in every class entered.

I married Chad on June 12, 2004 and moved the herd to Chrisman, Illinois.
